BEYOND HERE LIES NOTHIN’
FEBRUARY 1 – APRIL 15

ARTIST LECTURE
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28
6:30 PM | GREY TOWERS CASTLE MIRROR ROOM

Titled after a Bob Dylan song referencing exile, this exhibition combines examples from two recent projects by this Irish conceptual documentary photographer (b. 1980). Heat Maps(2016-ongoing) uses an extreme telephoto, thermographic camera to examine the current refugee crisis in Europe. Infra(2010-15) records the armed conflict in eastern Congo on discontinued color infrared stock. Both bodies of work explore Mosse’s radical repurposing of military reconnaissance equipment to challenge the conventions of photojournalism and propose unforeseen and affecting ways of regarding these humanitarian disasters.
