Event Details

ReadingFilmFEST was created in 2015 to support emerging filmmakers by screening independent films by both professional and student filmmakers. This is a juried competition with films being solicited in several categories: narrative feature, documentary feature, short films, LatinX films, Made in Reading films (films shot in the region and/or created by local filmmakers), and student films (short narratives or documentaries, and music videos).

Featuring 3 venues, including historic and modern theaters, ReadingFilmFEST provides an extraordinary experience for both filmmakers and film lovers. Integrating film, art, food, music and dance into its events, the festival attracts filmmakers from around the globe. ReadingFilmFEST provides opportunities to connect with enthusiastic audiences and industry professionals. The organizers work with filmmakers to create targeted marketing for individual films. The festival also offers multiple opportunities to network with other filmmakers, distributors and visiting VIPs. Panel discussions on topics such as micro-budget filmmaking, new technologies, and distribution appeal to new and veteran creators.

Filmmakers accepted to the festival receive free lodging and VIP treatment at as many parties and receptions as any self-respecting filmmaker can handle!
