Scribe is thrilled to present I Am Not Your Negro directed by Raoul Peck (USA, 2016, 93 min)

HÉBERT PECK (PRODUCER) IN PERSON

I Am Not Your Negro is a journey into Black representation (in Hollywood and elsewhere) that challenges the very definition of what America stands for. Using the writer’s own words, Director Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished – a radical narration about race in America. Drawing upon Baldwin’s notes about the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr., Peck uses his own experience to provide the foundation, structure, and rhythm of the story to create a deeper understanding of what is not solely a race issue, but a societal reality that continues to tear apart today’s America.
