“Before we were woke, we were conscious.”

On Friday, July 6, in conjunction with the exhibition Collective Conscious: The Art of Social Change, AAMP hosts an evening of short film and conversation. Building upon exhibition themes of social justice, freedom and community, AAMP presents four short film projects by filmmakers Stefon Bristol (See You Yesterday), Carrie Hawks (black enuf*) and Jamal Lewis (No Fats, No Femmes), along with a film project produced by Big Picture Alliance (We Are Sankofa).

Following the screening, filmmakers Carrie Hawks, Jamal Lewis and representatives from Big Picture Alliance will join us for a moderated discussion and audience Q&A. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Grab your tickets today!

The Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO) is a "film commission" representing southeastern Pennsylvania that officially serves the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

We are a member of the Association of Film Commissions International (AFCI). GPFO, first established in 1985 as a part of Philadelphia city government, continues to reside within city offices.

In 1992, we became a regional economic development agency, incorporating in 2000 as the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation.
