Event Details

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) will hold an Admissions Open House on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Prospective students and their families can tour the school, meet faculty and administrators, learn about the school’s rigorous curriculum and learn about the school’s admissions process.

Auditions for the 2020-2021 school year will take place in February 2020. An Open House event is a great first step for prospective students to learn more about the school. Charter Arts is an audition-based public charter school. As a public charter school, Charter Arts receives public funding, therefore, there is no tuition cost to families.

Students major in one of 7 artistic areas: dance, instrumental music, literary arts, production arts, theatre, visual art, or vocal music. Students spend a portion of the day in artistic classes and a portion of the day in core academic classes. Any student who resides in Pennsylvania, who is entering 9th,10th,11th or 12th grade, is eligible to audition.
Charter Arts’ rigorous curriculum fosters both academic and artistic excellence for its students. The school’s impressive Future Ready PA Index ranking, Advanced Placement (AP) exam statistics, Keystone Exam statistics, SAT scores, prestigious artistic accolades, and graduation rate, are testaments to the outstanding education that Charter Arts provides.
Charter Arts is proud to celebrate its seventeenth year as one of the most respected high schools for the arts in the nation. Charter Arts was one of only 349 schools in the nation to be named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education and earned a Silver Award for its impressive ranking on U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools in America list. Recently, Charter Arts was listed as #1 Best Charter High School in Pennsylvania by Niche.

Charter Arts’ current student body includes students who hail from more than 45 school districts across a ten-county region in eastern PA. Students travel into Bethlehem from towns as far south as the Philadelphia suburbs, as far north as the Poconos, and as far east as Lancaster County.

FOR THE OPEN HOUSE EVENT: Doors open at 5:30 PM for tours, the program in the theatre begins at 6:30 PM.
