Event Details

The 2018 Short Film Slam, presented by The Madlab Post, is a semi-monthly screening series providing a platform for budding filmmakers to showcase their work. Come watch a selection of short films from here and abroad including Temple University student Samantha Tan’s experimental horror MY BEDROOM, Australian native Leanne Rangan’s drama THE MORNING AFTER and French student Valentina Casadei’s drama BLESSED DAYS.

Attendees will also get to cast a vote for their favorite films. The winning film will advance to the next round of competition during the following month. All monthly winners get to compete for a total of $1,000 in prize money during the final round.

Since 2012, The Madlab Post has promoted community outreach and engagement through film, screening dozens of exceptional short films from around the world to local audiences; including the Academy Award nominated short film A SINGLE LIFE, Clermond-Ferrand International Film Festival Special Jury Prize winner THE BATHTUB and Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee Et ta prostate, ça va? (HOW’S YOUR PROSTATE?).

ABOUT US

The Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO) is a "film commission" representing southeastern Pennsylvania that officially serves the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

We are a member of the Association of Film Commissions International (AFCI). GPFO, first established in 1985 as a part of Philadelphia city government, continues to reside within city offices.

In 1992, we became a regional economic development agency, incorporating in 2000 as the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation.
