Searching for three actors for a student short film. Shooting will take place in Philadelphia over 2-3 days in late May (May 19-21).
GROCERY SHOPPING is an absurdist comedy about an endless walk to the grocery store which is interrupted by a woman from a strange fictional religion and her mission to find an aging philosophy professor’s missing dog, which he himself refuses to look for. (No animals will be involved in this film).
Roles to be cast:
THE PROTAGONIST (20s, all genders welcome) – funny and occasionally sarcastic, but insecure of their place in the world.
HOLLY (30s-40s, female) – outgoing & extroverted, very passionate about her fictional religion and unafraid to share it. Genuinely caring of others, but hiding a fear and selfishness that she’s secretly ashamed of.
BASIL (60s-70s, male) – intelligent but childish. Quirky and wisecracking. Buries his real feelings under pointless routines and faux-intellectualization.
