ISO Assistant Producer, Part-time

Award-winning documentary filmmaker with small but mighty production company needs part-time assistant to work on multiple film projects. Ruby Pictures, Inc. produces independent documentary films, network programs, and non-profit videos, on a variety of social-justice oriented subject. Assistant will be exposed to all aspects of filmmaking from the interesting to the very tedious, including production, post production, distribution, and fundraising. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) archival research, travel coordination, footage logging, creating production schedules, running expense reports, amplifying social media presence, assisting on shoots, assembling radio cuts, media management, fact-checking, correspondence, pre-interviewing subjects, and general administrative support.

Ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years experience working in professional film production, understands what is involved with all of the above responsibilities, has competence in Adobe Premiere editing software and has a sense of humor. Please be conscientious, curious, supremely organized, easy-going, detail-oriented, people pleasing, and a great problem-solver, writer, self-starter, and multi-tasker. Please be ready to commit wholeheartedly.

The filmmaker’s home office is located in Center City, although candidate should be able to work from home, with occasional need to rendezvous with filmmaker for exchange of drives, materials, etc. Candidate should be available approximately 20 hours a week, majority during business hours, although hours will increase or decrease sometimes and depending on projects. Job will begin as soon as ideal candidate is found, and could continue for at least six months.
