The Greater Philadelphia Film Office can assist you with obtaining any necessary government permits or licenses that you may need for your production. From closing streets to acquiring parking permits, we can help you do it all! Below is a list of applications that can be downloaded right here.

Independence National Historic Park

Film and Photography Permit for the National Parks System which oversees Independence National Historic Park, the Liberty Bell Center, Merchant’s Exchange and Carpenter’s Hall among others.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (formerly Fairmount Park Commission)

The Media Permit Application attached below is for areas that fall under the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Parks and Recreation’s jurisdiction including Rittenhouse Square, LOVE Park (JFK Plaza), Boathouse Row and the Art Museum Steps (aka “Rocky” steps) among countless others. If you’re unsure if a location is governed by “Parks And Rec”, please reach out to the Film Office for assistance. City of Philadelphia, Streets Department

Application for Street Closure, Equipment Placement (Jibs, dolly track, dumpsters, pods for Hair, Make-up, Wardrobe or Props) and Partial/Full Sidewalk closure – Visit Site

City of Philadelphia Department of Revenue

A Commercial Activity License (formerly Business Privilege License) is required for all businesses operating in Philadelphia – Visit Site

Fire Department Permit for Pyrotechnician

This permit is for Squib use on set as well as prop guns that use gunpowder – Visit Site

Philadelphia Police Department
