Beauty Secrets is a new webisode series written by J. Rayna Smith (writer of the hit stage play Emotional Reactions) Beauty Secrets is a story about the drama that takes place in and outside of the 3 different salon/barbershops.

"The Standoff"

Drug dealer Al comes home to his apartment to find out his girlfriend has snorted all his cocaine. He starts to panic when his dealer Louie comes to door. Louie wants his drugs or his money. Al has neither. Al lets Louie in the apartment and Louie is holding Al's friend Joey hostage. As the tension mounts between the 4 people in the room and everyone but Joey is pointing a gun at each other we hear a woman's voice. We cut to a suburban yard where a woman is bringing snacks to 4 children. We see 4 children dressed similarly as the adults from the apartment. They are all holding water pistols.

The Discoverers background

Heery Casting is looking for NON-UNION background for a low-budget feature film.
The Discoverers will be shooting in the Philadelphia area beginning in early October 2010.
Needed are NON-UNION men and women, age 25-65, all ethnicities, all types, for background.

Variety Acts Needed for the next Five Minute Follies in Philadelphia (THEATRICAL SHOW)
The first Five Minute Follies on May 1st, 2010 was a rousing success with a standing-room-only audience. We just secured a date at the Rotunda in Philadelphia for the next Follies - Friday, January 14th, 2011 - and we're looking for acts. Can you do something interesting, entertaining, dramatic, touching, surprising and/or funny in five minutes or less? Well, then, drop us a line. Please feel free to send links to audio or video.
As always, we are seeking singers, dancers, comics, clowns, jugglers, sideshow performers, contortionists, magicians, and especially hard-to-classify acts. Traditional and non-traditional performers welcome. We are paying homage to the golden age of variety - think Ed Sullivan's Toast of the Town, Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour, The Carol Burnett Show - the shows that kept the spirit of Vaudeville alive on television. We want the full spectrum of entertainment, from the nostalgic to the weird.
No bands, but solo artists welcome with own accompaniment (live or CD with backing tracks). No pyrotechnics, no nudity, no animal acts.

Various Projects

Bucks County filmmaker Stanley D. Jacobs is in pre-production for a variety of potential feature length independent films to be filmed in 2011. In preparation for these projects, SDJ Productions is looking for non-union actors and actresses of all ages (18+) and all ethnicities, experienced as well as new talent. There are many featured and supporting roles to fill, as well as several single scene roles (with dialogue) and also several action background roles (with no dialogue). Auditions will be scheduled by appointment sometime in December/January, to be announced at a future date.
This is an all volunteer project (there is no pay/no compensation). If chosen, all we ask is for your committment to the project and a passion for the role. A finished DVD will be produced for a Fall 2011 premiere. This is a great opportunity to create or expand your talents and have a finished product for your reel.
If you have not auditioned for us recently, I encourage you to send an updated resume and headshot. There are potentially over 40 roles to fill from leading man to 'gangsta' and 'mob' types.

A Rose For Amethyst
Ashley Akunna, is casting for a twenty minute dramatic short. The story focuses on a young woman, Amethyst, who balances her unstable family life and finding love, all while confronting the treacherous realities of her inevitable career choice. When the lines between reality and love become blurred, Amethyst realizes that not everyone is what they seem.
Filming will take place in North Philadelphia. Looking for serious, experienced, and committed actors who are available for rehearsals, as well as scheduled shooting days. (will shoot on weekends).
