Filmmaker Spotlight Fast Dreams, a documentary directed by Nick Briscoe Nick BriscoeFast Dreams is a feature length documentary that profiles teenage racecar drivers in their quest to make it to one of the elite professional series of motor sports. The film was shot over nine months and primarily focuses on two young phenoms in fifteen year old Gabriel Chaves and eighteen year old Jeff Oleen. Chaves, born in Columbia, currently resides outside Miami, Florida and races junior formula cars, which are a steppingstone to his ultimate goal of competing in Formula 1. Jeff Oleen of Maryland races junior sprint cars on oval tracks and hopes to one day compete in the top Nascar series. Fast Dreams highlights not only the skill and determination required of these young men, but also the incredible time and financial commitment that they and their parents must be willing to make in order to reach their ultimate goals. Also featured is the Urban Youth Racing School, a Philadelphia-based organization that exposes inner city youth to the thrill of racing and the many non-driving career opportunities within motor sports. This is the second feature film for director Nick Briscoe and his first documentary. Briscoe and Brian Matthews produced the project under the Belvedere Entertainment banner, which Briscoe co-founded in 2005 with Charlie Pasquale, who executive produced Fast Dreams. Brian Matthews is a Philadelphia based producer and assistant director with credits on local feature projects such as Blur, Universal Signs and Bam Margera's Minghags. Fast Dreams will be the final production for Belvedere Entertainment. Nick Briscoe will continue to produce and direct movies, commercials, music videos and TV in the Philadelphia market as an independent contractor. Fast Dreams boasts the local talent of cinematographer Paul Van Haute, composer John Avarese, and post-production house Shooters. For more information visit the site. |
